7 Plus English Exam Papers with Answers
English Paper 1 is a beautiful story entitled ‘The Garden’. It contains higher level language and vocabulary and the questions will challenge all students. Answers included. This paper also includes story writing practice.
English Paper 2 is a continuation of ‘The Garden’ . Again, superb descriptive language is used to provide challenge to all learners. Answers included. This paper also includes story writing practice.
English Paper 3 is entitled the holiday. In this comprehension, children will asked to find examples of personification and similes and to make predictions. Answers included. This paper also includes story writing practice.
English Paper 4 is a comprehension called ‘The picture that came to life’. Children will need to have strong vocabulary for this one and know what a phrase is. Children will need to know what an adverb is.
English Paper 5 is a story entitled ‘Lost’. In this comprehension, children will be asked to give the meaning of complex words by trying to infer meaning from the sentence. Answers included.
Story writing for this paper is as follows: Write a story from the perspective of the Eagle. Think about the following: How the Eagle came to know Jonathan’s mum and dad, how the Eagle found Jonathan, the sights the Eagle saw on his journey to rescue Jonathan. Use descriptive language, interesting sentence openers and correct punctuation.
7 Plus Maths Exam Papers with Answers
Maths paper 1 will assess your child’s understanding of mental addition and subtraction, mental multiplication and division, using the inverse, problem solving, odd and even numbers, writing numbers in words, partitioning numbers, sequences, shapes (2D and 3D), time (including 24 hour), fraction of quantity and rounding. Maths paper 2 will assess your child’s understanding of number bonds to 50, column multiplication, balancing, worded problems, division, using the greater than or less than symbols, arrays, fractions, money, symmetry and 3D shape properties. Answers included.
Maths paper 3 will assess your child’s understanding of ordering numbers, using the greater than and less than symbols, using the 4 operations, money, fraction of quantity, time worded problems, bar charts, symmetry and right angles. Answers included.
Maths paper 4 will assess your child’s understanding of written and mental strategies for addition and subtraction, balancing, ordering numbers, partitioning, worded problems, fractions, writing numbers in words, converting from metres to centimetres, digital to analogue time, patterns and rounding to the nearest 100.
Maths paper 5 will assess your child’s understanding of time, worded problems, fractions, writing numbers in words, metres and centimetres, patterns and rounding to the nearest 100.
